Mission Statement
The Foundation exists to support the development of excellence in
technical training and education. It does so by attracting and involving
in this endeavor leaders from among the college's alumni and friends.
The Foundation's primary efforts shall be directed toward attracting,
receiving, investing, managing and expending gifts and other resources
designated for the technical training programs of Valdosta Technical
College.
Note from President Bridges
What is the “5 Days in October” Building the American
Dream, One Student at a Time Campaign? The drive consists of annual
contributions from friends of VTC. It is a solicitation effort to
raise funds to support college program equipment needs and student
emergency needs that are not covered by funds from the State of
Georgia.
Why is it important to give? Your support is greatly needed to
help Valdosta Tech fulfill its mission to train the workforce of
Georgia. Providing students with the latest technology, financial
assistance, and opportunities to help them reach their full potential
is critical. Your gift assures that VTC will attract and retain
the best students by furthering the quality of programs and services
offered.
In addition, Ken Breeden, Georgia’s Commissioner of Technical
and Adult Education, issued equipment matching grant challenge to
VTCF to raise $200,000 by the end of 2003. So, every dollar you
give will be matched by the State of Georgia up to $200,000. Participation
in the annual campaign, regardless of the amount, is significant.
Can you restrict your annual gift to any area within the college?
Yes. You may restrict your gift to a particular department or to
the Student Assistance Fund.
What can you do? Build the American Dream! By making a gift you
directly influence programs offered at VTC. I hope that you will
consider joining other loyal supporters by making a contribution
to the annual campaign and touching 10,000 lives.
Thank you,
James Bridges
2002 Campaign Results
The 2002 VTC Foundation Campaign was chaired by Calvin Marshall
and was a huge success. Over $1,000,000 in both in-kind and cash
contributions were raised to more than reach Commissioner Breeden's
$155,000 challenge. On behalf of the Campaign Team and Board of
Trustees thank you to each and every donor. Contributions do make
a tremendous impact on college programs and student lives.
