| Valdosta Technical College offers
a full-time full-service Job Placement/Career Services Office whose
staff members are committed to assisting graduates in locating meaningful
and satisfactory employment in their fields of study. In addition
to assisting graduates, the staff assists currently enrolled students
in locating part-time and full-time employment while still enrolled
in school.
Employers throughout the state contact the placement office daily
to recruit potential employees. Employers in the service area have
worked with the Job Placement/Career Services Office for many years
and have confidence in the skills and work ethics training received
by Valdosta Tech students. The Job Placement/Career Services staff
also survey employers regularly to ensure that students receive
the training and skills necessary to be effective and successful
employees.
The Office promotes and sponsors regular job fairs in the local
area in an ongoing effort to put students in touch with employers.
Staff members also provide workshops, seminars, and information
on job interview skills, resume-writing, job retention and advancement
to prepare future students for the world of work.
Students are encouraged to register with the Job Placement/Career
Services Office, find answers to questions about types of jobs available,
obtain assistance with specific job search questions, and research
continuing educational opportunities at Valdosta Tech or other colleges.
Current job orders and notices are posted on bulletin boards on
the main campus, at Cook County Workforce Development Center, and
this website’s Job Board in an attempt to keep students and
graduates informed of career opportunities.
The Job Placement/Career Services Office, working closely with
faculty and staff, has enjoyed an average job placement rate among
graduates of more than 90% for more than ten years. The office is
open from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and
from 7:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Evening hours are also
available and are posted on the main campus. The office phone numbers
